Policy on the Use of AI
Kunduz University International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (KUIJIS) is committed to maintaining transparency, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the stages of writing, reviewing, and administrative decision-making must be carried out in accordance with the following guidelines.
- Use of Artificial Intelligence by Authors
- Authors are only permitted to use artificial intelligence tools for language editing, such as improving grammar, clarity of the text, or sentence structure.
- The use of AI for content generation, data analysis, producing results, or writing sections that involve scientific argumentation or research findings is prohibited.
- Any use of AI tools must be clearly and transparently disclosed in the article (for example, in the acknowledgements section or in a separate note).
- Full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and scientific integrity of the article rests with the author(s).
- Use of Artificial Intelligence by Reviewers (Peer Reviewers)
- Reviewers are not permitted to use artificial intelligence tools for reading, summarizing, evaluating, or commenting on manuscripts.
- The use of AI for any activity that requires access to the confidential content of a manuscript is prohibited.
- Observance of confidentiality and ethical principles of peer review is mandatory for reviewers.
3.Use of Artificial Intelligence by Editors
- Editors are not permitted to use artificial intelligence tools to assess research quality, make scholarly judgments, or decide on the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
- Editorial decisions must be made exclusively by human editors and based on scientific criteria, publishing ethics, and the journal’s policies.
- Editors must not allow AI-generated suggestions or evaluations to influence their decision-making.
- Accountability
- Compliance with this policy is mandatory for authors, reviewers, and editors.
- Any misuse of artificial intelligence tools may result in manuscript rejection, re-evaluation, or other actions in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies.
