Abstract

Human resources are considered one of the fundamental factors
contributing to sporting success and sustainable performance in
sports organizations. This study aims to examine the role of human
resources in sporting success, with emphasis on recruitment and
selection, training and development, empowerment, motivation,
performance evaluation, and organizational support. The study
employed a descriptive–analytical approach based on a review of
scientific literature and relevant studies on human resource
management and performance in sports organizations. The findings
indicate that effective recruitment and selection, continuous training
and development, empowerment, and appropriate motivational
practices can enhance employees’ competencies, commitment, and
performance. Furthermore, fair performance evaluation and
effective management of athletes, coaches, managers, and support
staff contribute to strengthening team coordination and fostering a
positive organizational culture. Therefore, sporting success does not
depend solely on athletes’ physical and technical abilities; effective
management and development of human resources also play a
fundamental role in achieving sustainable performance.
Accordingly, integrating human resource management into the
policies and strategies of sports organizations can provide a basis
for improving performance and achieving sustainable sporting
success.
